yep i had a whopping £8 for my drinks and food metal that i have been saving.....ok i cant buy that dream smallholding yet.... but hay 8 squidaroonies is 8 squidaroonines....and lets be honest it is £8 that would have been put into the bin....Scrap Metal prices are pretty good at the moment, compared to what they have been like, so might go for a walk later, take a carrier bag with me, and collect the drinks cans you see thrown at the side of the road.....

I am sure there was a bloke somwhere who actually saved and asked for drinks cans etc around his area, and he bought his house out the money...will have to have a nose around the old internet and see if i can find the story...and do an update on my hubpages about him....

i have had a few days off work, so i can just potter around the garden and play with my chickens and ducks, as to be honest i am drained out with work, so i am just re-charging my batteries.

Anyway... i have had to throw away ( dont hiss at me ) eggs again, as we are getting soooooooooo many everyday. So we are buying a bigger incubator, so we can hatch more eggs, so at least we can sell the chicks at the farm auctions.

I know i could sell them on, but to be honest to be honest i am so busy lately, i dont think i have the time..... but i was thinking.... about starting up a local yahoo group,or a speciality forum, so people can swop surplus produce, what do you think? would it work? I also need a name for tis group, but my mind has gone blank.... so any suggestions would be great...

as at the moment i could swop a load of eggs and broad bean plants

ooo well i am off now to try and find places to plant more broad beans...

Back to 'wots been appening' at the old bikerboots and chickenfeet crib...lol..

well a few weeks ago hubby and i decided to get some turkey eggs off ebay, and last night they started hatching out, sadly we lost 2 while they were hatching, but one hatched out ( still more to hatchout) Flip are they ugly chicks...lol...We are calling it 'jingle' and hopefully 'Bell' will not be long hatching..out intentions were to hatch a few, and hten sell them on in a few weeks, as i dont think i am quite ready to rear our own chirstmas dinner...

so will try and get some pics.. of jingle later...

Plus.. one of ducks has gone broody, and is sitting on some duck and chicken eggs as i type....so good job i managed to weight in some scrap alu and steel cans and got a whopping £8...lol.... well its money i wouldnt have got if i had put our cans in for the councile refuge...

so better get my skates on and come and boot myself up the butt, as i have got an expanding 2-legged family to house... ( right mind wonders off to think of more money making ideas)

Its been 8 months since i posted...

News........ Well i am still daydreaming......nearly 2 years on since starting the blog.....

oooo well stime to boot myself up the butt me thinks and start doing something about this Daydream of ours........

YES.... you heard right....... Hubby has not only come to terms with me harping on about a smallholding.... he is actually taling about 'WHEN' we have our smallholding....We are even fighting who's going to read the smallhoning magazine first!!!!!!!!!!!

well i have finally sold my trike 'sob' the guy paid the rest of the money and took her away..

I done a boot sale at the monthly farm auction... and done very well, this really did give me a well deserved boot up the backside. to get me back on track..

i was selling secondhand wellies for a £1... and sold over 20 pairs...lol..

so now looking to find other farm auctions etc with trade stands and boot sales..

will update my total, and TRY and keep on track....

ooo ye sold 4 welsh bankets too....those farmer's wives have good taste...

sorry i havent posted for a while... but i have got to get back on track...

to sum up the last month or so...basically...my fund went up to over 8k..hurray!!!!
then the business went through a cashflow blip. ...boooo!!!

so now my total fund is .....£3,032.97

dont think its anywhere near the amount i need to buy this beautifull place, with its 'dingle Chic'....lol..

It was my birthday yesturday, and i was 43...and i just felt...... well, like the years are whizzing by, and i just felt my dream house would be just that 'A DREAM'

Thankfully i am feeling a bit better today, i am even thinking about those saucy chat lines to make money...lol..

But hopefully in the next day or so i will feel a bit better and full of energy again...

Lost my Mojo

First of all sorry for not posting for a few moths, but as the song goes 'Life has been a Rollercaoster'

to sum it all up, work very busy, managed to take a wage.. had over 8k in my daydream fun 'HURRAY!!!!! finally getting somewhere,

T.H.E.N...... a buyer let me down,, had loads of stock.. so had to put some of my daydream fund money back into business, so now i am left with just over 3k..

so at the mo i do feel a bit piddled off,

To be honest i have also lost my mojo, as every time i have been thinking or looking at properties, its just made me feel so low, and i end up crying, and saying 'sod it' and sending hubby out for a takeaway ...

maybe after blurting this out, maybe i can get it out of my system and maybe my mojo will come back....

ooooo ye if you do find my mojo, just give it a dam good kick up the back side, and send it home as it is desperately needed....

wooohooooo i have now got over 1k...lol...

sold some things at a farm auction yesturday.... some broad bean and cabbage plants, also sold some wax jackets and wellies,

cashed out my free scratchcard money from virgin bingo ( if you want to know how just let me know in the comments and i will talk you through it)

plus cashed out some money from paypal for things i have sold on ebay

been a beautifull day here, so i have been doing some more sowing, and waht ever surplus i got i will take to the auction, i am also going to layer some honeysuckle, to get some cuttings going, plus i think i will get some root cuttings from my pineapple mint, so ican sell them on too at hte auction... i might as well, even if i only get 50p per plant it all helps... towards my fund.

my sealed tin is getting heavier by the day too, with the loose change i am putting in.

sorry there are no pics today for you to see, but i really do want to make hte most of this weekend, and make the most of it out in the garden.

i seen an old farm advertised on the old internet, which is only a few miles away, and hubby agreed to take me to have a look,

wow was i in daydream heaven, an old little farmhouse cottage which i think dates back to the 1700's and hardly been modernised. vintage bliss

took some pics to show you all

and this is the back of the house.... this part of the house looks as though it was added umpteen years ago...its even lower than hubby, and he is 6ft 2

there is 10 acres of land, which is rough pasture and woods,ooooo ye and a stream at the bottom of the garden

on the way back the next house to the farm we seen a guy outside who hubby works with, and he was saying that loads of people have been going to see it, so its going to get snapped up, even with the loads of work that needs doing.

this afternoon when we came back i was sooooooooo desperate i was thinking of putting a donation button on my blog, or even starting a new blog purely for donations...lol.... and then i came to my senses...

i will plodd along and one day hopefully when i have got money i will find another old farm

there's one good thing with all this, hubby is now on side, he was even working out how much tonnage i need to sell of grade A textiles to cover the price...lol...

anyway going now as i am in the middle of making bacon and onion mini quiches with grated cheese on top. trying to use the abundance of eggs i've got.....tata for now..

Well......I never i actually found out that hubby has allways wanted a pet cow, and kept asking his parents for one when he was small...lol.... well he's got one now....ME....LOL...

I honestly think he is getting used to the 'good life' idea, he doesnt grumble anymore when i ask him to help me in the garden, and has said he wants to buy an incubator.....espcially when he seen how much the young geese were going for...
PLUS..... he doesnt tell me we cant have a smallholding anymore...so he is def getting used to the idea..

sadly the chicks we bought a few weeks ago all died..was well gutted, the only thing i can think of it was too long in the cold in the auction, and the chill had set in.

been having a good few weeks.... managed to sell some vintage things in work so i can offically add another £500 to my total...

went to the arm auction again this weekend, was meaning to take htings to sell, but we got up late. bought a pair of young red silkies which are sooooooooo cute, and this year's hatch

and a white pair which are older...they were in a box so couldnt see them properly, and when we got them home their feet/legs are in very poor condition...so will be treating htem over the next week or so

this weekend i am making the most of the dry weather and have been in and out of the garden..and have been transplanting my cabbage plants etc

and now i am going to have a lovely fried egg sandwich with these lovely fresh eggs

OTHER NEWS.....UPDATE.....

went to the farm auction on saturday with hubby, and we bought 6 bluebell chicks and 6 naked neck chicks..... sadly we lost one of the bluebell chicks, it was a very cold and damp day, there is one that still doesnt look right, so i havent gone into to work today, so i can keep an eye on it...

have decided i am going to grow alot more seeds etc than i will use myself to sell at the farm auction to raise some more cash...so this afternoon i am going to buy a kg of runner bean seeds and a kg of broad bean seeds and a box of 408 plant trays for 9 plants each, from a local bargin shop/garden supplies, this guy also has a storage unti by my unit so... he's giving me a goods price on them...i think the trays work out at 12p each and the runner bean seeds are £11 per kg so all in all i will make some money there..if not i will have loads of runner beans to sell and put in the freezer...lol...

Need to plant up some strawberry plants that i got today, which i ordered off ebay... i bought 20 runners, which are huge and healthy... so will pot them in individual pots and keep them in the greenhouse, to bring them on a bit earlier... cant wait.... strawberries and cream......mmmmmmmmmm

so my mojo is back on track...

i am such a dirty girl....'look' at these hands

hahahahaha.....'gotcha' ......what did you think i had been up to...ok dont answere that...lol...

well i have had a wonderfull day just doing bits around the garden and in the greenhouse..

i had to make a start on planting these seeds and garlic

so i got my trays all ready

and started getting my hands dirty with the compost..

and here we are the first things that i planted were the garlic..

and while i had my hands dirty.... i got the dreg ends of the potatoes that were at the bottom of the sack

and planted them in old compost bags, as its too cold to plant them outside... so they can stay in the greenhouse until i can put the bags outside...

i have got proper seed potatoes chitting at the moment on my bedroom windowsill... those ones i will plant in my m.i.l. garden..

also managed to sow some tomato seeds, sweet peas, lettuce, cabbage and some peas, so cant wait to plant some more things....

right better go and wash my dirty hands.....lol....

getting all excited now...lol... we went out and about yesturday as we heard lidl had apple trees for just £3.99.... managed to get a bramley apple tree, but we need to get another type of apple tree so they can polinate.... so i heard aldi are having apple trees in on thursday... so will take a nose..

hubby came with me, and to be honest it is genuinely taking an interest..and coming up with ideas, and things that HE needs to do.....mmmmmmmmmmmmm either he wants something or he has decided.. to give in to the idea...lol...

we bought some garlic, seed potatoes, some early peas and a rhubarb crown.. ok i know i have one in our garden, but i love making chutney... so another plant will not be wasted...lol..

some sad news......... my daydream fund has now gone down to zero...... to help pay for the clearing of the garden..... so will start again.... but at least i have some land to play with in the mean time.. unless the dreaded m.i.l. starts being awkward...

WOW............i didnt realise it was sooooooooo big. its a flipping whopper..

Even though its flipping snowing, and freeeeezzzzzing cold, the tree guy has stuck to his word, and is working on my m.i.l garden to clear all the shrubs and brambles, and those dead trees...

and look.. i didnt realise how big the garden was

ooooooo cant wait ... we need to hire a cultivator and dig up all those roots etc... but hayho... then it will be ready for planting... better starting chitting a big sack of spuds...lol..

yep that is what hubby has been saying all flipping day to me....

sooooo much has happened since i posted last, but i have been keeping all my friends in the shabbychic cafe. updated

basically cut a very long story short...my mother in law have said we can use her garden.. for growing veg etc.. but it is sooooooooo over grown and has about 6 trees that are sooo dangerous they need felling.. i am now paying someone to clear it all, so all we have to do is dig up the roots etc... He is going to be starting this next week so will keep you updated on this ( promise).. I was going to use money from my business. but now this is going to be needed elsewhere ( tell you in a mo..lol..)

So basically my Daydream fund will be back to zero, and i will have to start again, but in my defence with spending my money i will be doing something that will be a bit like what i would be doing on a smallholding..lol..

So watch this space over the coming weeks/months..

Right lets go back to the begining...... ' this time next year rodders' hubby has been saying this to me ALL day..lol... My business has now go to a diff level,, so i a have had to buy a bigger van and take someone on full time...

He is also mentioning that you never know that maybe in the future we could afford a farm....( WHAT!!!!!! you are actually coming round to realise that i am not a daydreamer anymore...WOW) He took me to see a little smallholding locally today, so that is 2 now.. and i think he is getting interested in the idea himself...lol...

WONDERS WILL NEVER CEASE.....!!!!!!!

i know i havent been posting like i should, but i have been busy.

For christmas hubby and the kids bought me a mushroom growing kit, some lovely hand tools, seeds.(about 5 packs).. and promised to help me around the garden, and true to their word.....today (boxing day) they started cutting back a HUGE budliea which has been blocking out the sun in one part of the garden. it is just outside our garden wall, in the waste ground, which used to be where all my chickens lived... so its time to get that back in order too...wink wink...lol..

While hubby and my eldest were doing that i cleaned mrs chook and duckywucky out, which i thought the duck was a boy.... But.. it has now starting quacking and it hasnt got a 'kiss curl' on its butt feathers....so hopefully some lovely eggs from her in the spring....

i had their house all nice with fresh straw, and what do they do.????? go and mess it all up .....there's no pleasing some people..... oooooo i mean animals....lol..

yesturday, after reading lace threads blog it got me 'itching' to make something so this is whatt i managed to amke out of an old pillow case. and a bit of crochet lace that came into work as rags...its the same crochet lace that i gave bloomin murtle a while back

what do you think as a first attempt?

ok i know..lol.. a pattern just for a stocking.

i also used an old cotton sheet for the lining on the inside, and used wadding too

so i will prob finish it off by putting an organza ribbon bow on the top too, hubby said it was good but not very 'christmasy' lol.. well its kept me busy for an hour or too until my sewing machine packed up...

this week my electric sewing machine decided to play up AGAIN!!!!
So i have dug out my old singer sewing machine, that was given to me when i was about 8 - 9 Years old... i spent many an hour in my bedroom with this old hand singer machine making clothes for my dolls.. well trying to ..lol..

i absolutely love the look of old machines... plus if you think about it they are sooooooo eco friendly.. you dont need electric to make them work they are practically bomb proof.. and there are so many of them still around you can pick them up very cheaply. plus they look lovely in the corner of the room as a decrative piece of furniture.

guess what i will be playing with tonight....

these curtains came into work a few days ago.. and i had a lovely cheesey grin on my face as i liked them sooooooo much...dont know what i am going to do with them mind you... prob annoy my hubby with them..lol..

'Apes' we miss you sooo much

have had a bit of an emotional rollercoster weekend.

a good biker friend of ours died a year last friday, and his bike club done a memorial ride out for him on saturday morning, passing the place where he got killed riding his bike, we then went onto the grave so we could all pay our respects. and then we rode passed his house, and then back to the club house. where they held a one day bike show.

their club house is in the loughor boat club, which as some fantastic views.

manage to get a couple of pics..( none of me ..yes you can carry on looking,lol nothing scary on here now)
i have also got some other personal issues going one ( dont worry will not bore you with them..) so tday i am an emotional time bomb.

so done some work this moring.. and i have said SOD IT!!!!!!!! i am not working for the rest of the day.. i dont care if someone wants their smelly knickers recycled... they can either wash them.. or flipping wait...

i realised i hadnt had my hair cut in over a year.... and i have booked myself an appointment for this afternoon..... the whole works.. cut dyed.. and re-styled...so its going to be alot shorter...and flip knows what colour...but i better go and do a de-lousing session...lol... has youngest came home from school last week with visitors.....so better to be safe than sorry..

as its quiet on the old raising funds for my saving pot, i thought i would enlighten you on what i do for a living...well that is what i do for work, dont actually have a wage yet..lol..

I have turned my hobby of collecting/selling vintage clothing into a business, which has now ended up me recycling, buying/selling textiles...clothing... shoes and handbags. Its very hard work, and now after a year it is starting to come together.

yep ME.... i must have the most boring blog in the world... not many photos... no sense of humour.. and basically just a bloody boring read....

so i have awarded myself a the most boring blog in the world title.

as for an acceptance speach....mmmmmmmm well. there isnt going to be one as i will bore you all to tears...and lets face it with the flipping british summer being a total wash out.. the kids bored out of their brains... and they cant wait to go back to school;, just for something to do ( which is a flipping first in our coop...lol.) you dont need another thing to bore you...

even a game of eye spy on my blog will be exciting.....ooooo hang on a minute.... now there's a thought..... a game of eye spy on the internet.... i wonder if that has been done before.... it probibly has....lol....

well what i mean is... from sept 1st we are starting a monthly gorcery challenge. to try and keep or reduce our shopping budget.. this is going to be great for me, to try and keep me forcused, and to try and save some pennies..and to stop ALL un-necessary spending.. ..

I know i use a lot of money off coupons when i can, but to be honest every though this is great and have kept food on the table in very desperate times when money has been non-exisitant. i really do need to get back to reality and realise one day i am not going to be able to rely on them, as the supermarkets have put a stop to it all...

so from now on a stick to my budget....and if i do use money off coupons its not fro extra things etc...what i mean is if, when i work out my new weekly/monthly grocery budget.. thats what i shop to..i know i am confusing lol.... but i know waht i mean...( I THINK)

I am going to use old cookery books to try and get some ideas for cheap meals.. and one book i do love for using up left overs is a book called we'll eat again, its a book with some recipes from world war II,, and its great for using up left overs. I must admit i do wonder sometimes as we are so used to having abundance of food in the supermarkets, how would we cope if we were in the situation that our parents and grandparents were in during the war time, we are in such a throw away soicety and food is a huge part of this too.

just a quicky to say hubby weighed in some scrap fpr me today and got £46 for a few bits. so this is going straight into the daydream fund. along with some postal orders i have got from some ebay sales.

so now my total is £615.09 now i really do need to go start making money to hit my target of 2k by christmas.

had a great time at the bulldog bash, but really do need to get back on track now and get forcussed again on my day dream, as i must admit i have been sooo busy since i have got back with work. its sunday today and i am off to work again to try and do some sorting out of the textiles, i had my step-father and hubby helping me yesturday, and today my motehr and step-father are helping again. it does save me alot of money as i dont have to pay someone..lol.. so hopefully when i got surplus cash flow money i can add this to my fund.

a bit of sad news..... one of the chicks ( white one ) and one of the ducklings have sadly died. last week, i just found them in the coop. really did put me on a downer for a while. but i will just have to get back to getting used to it.

this week i have got to try and get my butt into gear and make chtuney out of my rhuburb, otherwise the large amount of rhuburb i have in the garden will go to waste, which i cant let happen...

my courgettes are flowering nicely, but once a little courgette starts appearing it just falls off, the only thing i can think its must be all this wet weather, so will have to try and make room in the greenhouse for some of them.

oo yep just to say my lovely new wellies really did come in handy at the bulldog as it was a right mudbath, and everyone was envious of them...lol....

I'M BULLDOG BASHING THIS WEEKEND

Yep its that time of year again where we go to the bulldog bash, europes biggest bike rallies, organised by the Hell's Angels .
We have been going for a few years now, and loved it....party on down with great bands, watching the bikes go down the drag stripe etc...plus we allways spend some time in stratford too, as its a beautifull place. normally the police are only in the back ground around the place, and are never on site. but this year... i think they are going to be out in force due to the shoting last year of jerry on the way home from the bulldog. They seem to think there is going to be trouble.

So tonight i am getting my clothes ready, well making sure i have a few spare pairs of knickers in my pockets ...lol... as we are going up on the bike, we got to travel light, so only bare essentials... like tent, sleeping bag and booze...

I know i havent posted much, and havent done much for my fund, but after this weekend... i will knuckle down...Work is getting very busy at mo..typical. really as i am away for a few days...but it will still be there when i get back...

BUT...even though there isnt much money going into the pot.. i have got the start of my smallholding ( or backyard farm...lol..) in those little cuties.....

It makes me MAD!!!!!!!! how some people are so horrible...and selfish and no manners and well just twonks really..

While i was doing my weekly firday pick ups for work, i called into tesco to get some red wine vinegar for my rhuburb chutney ( lidl's dont seel it booooo) so i was strolling round the shop looking to see if there were any good offers this week, anyway i went down the milk isle, and i waited and watched, while a little old lady ( same hiegth as me lol) strugged to get some milk from the upper shelf, as they were right at the back and she couldnt reach... while she was struggling there were people ( including tall blokes) just pushing passed her to get to the other milk in the cages... and not one person asked if she needed help, Plus they were acting as though she wasnt there...so in my 'speak loudly to make a point voice' asked the little old dear if she wanted help.. so she pointed out the milk she was trying to get, and i stood on one of the cages and managed to get milk for her, even i struggled.... and still no one stepped in to help....

WHATS WRONG WITH PEOPLE??????? where's the respect and manners gone ? that poor old lady not only did no one help her, you could see she was in a bit of a tizz because of it....

When i handed her the milk,, i made a little joke saying that no one thinks about us shorties... to make her feel it wasnt only her that had this problem....

If this is the attitude society is getting, i dred to think what its going to be like when/if i reach the age of the little old lady...

Right i think its time to put the kettle on......

oo i am sooo 'egg'cited the donated chicken eggs we had from Rose-Sparky have HATCHED!!!!!!

this is the first time we have ( well mrs chook did it lol) ever hatched baby chicks.. in the passed we did buy some fertile eggs and tried to incubate them, but without success..

they are soooooo cute... there is a yellow one and a brown one....the brown one is a bit stronger than the yellow one... and it is 'egg'actly 21 days since we put the eggs under her....there is also 4 duck eggs under her too.. so we will have to wait another 10 days for them...

and i was having a bit of a poo day too.. so this has really put a smile on my face, and i want to see more baby chooks hatch out.. so this must be a sign... to show i am doing the right thing by trying to save for a small holding...

i think you lot better start thinking of more names..( hope the father doesnt want custardy)

i am now feeling really a bit mean now...as i havent named my chook, and she is about 14 months old now..... shame on me...

but there was a reason. when i used to have quite a few chickens and ducks. i used to name them, and if they died or the dreaded fox had them, it would really upset me, especially when the fox had Mrs Fluffybum...so i stopped naming them, thinking i wouldnt become soooooo attached.But now that i only have one, and hopefully is is going to my a mam, i think its only right to name her..

i need a good name for her, as hopefully she is sitting on the start of my live stock for my smallholding.. or if not my backyard farm...lol..

RAIN STOPS PLAY

I have managed to get hubby to help me in the garden... to try and tidy it up so i can turn it into my backyard farm...lol...

but within 10 mins it started raining, and hubby was back indoors... with his feet up watching tv....so rain stopped play again....

managed to sow 2 rows of turnips..... havent eaten these for years, and if i remember rightly i think they taste a bit like swede... but are smaller and quicker to grow...its only me that like turnips, but i am sure i can put some into casseroles without them knowing...hehehehehe..

going to try a diff way of putting a pic on my blog, so bare with me dont know if its going to work...lol..

what does an itchy right palm mean?

i meant to ask earlier on, but for the last few days i have had an itchy right palm... noe does this mean money coming in ? money going out ? or just that i have the lurgy on my right palm?

i cant remember what it is suposed to mean.....but what ever it means i did get £50 today.... hurray!!!!!!!! i get a lovely coupole who lives a bout 50 odd miles away, and they go round the festivals... selling clothes... but they dye them, re-vamp them etc.. to make them more individual... this is the 3rd time they have called to my unit.... i save things for them, that i think they could use... and they call with me every time they are passing to go to a festival...

so my total has now gone over the £500 mark..... which is a bit of a boost for me, as i must admit... i was hoping i could save/make loads of money in one go...lol..

more things being listed tonight on ebay....so please take a look....hopefully from next week i will be doing a few buy it now items....

kids are on hols from tuesday onwards i think.... so dont know whether i will be able to save a bit during that time.. might need the extra cash.. just to keep up with the food bill...lol...

i would love to have more comments from you guys who read my posts..... even if its just to say i am mad i will never save/earn the money.. or i need my head seeing to.. or just to introduce yourself and say hi......

all i can say is WOW i am impressed. i have never seen thunder live.. but boy did they flipping rock.... We went to the concert mainly to see whitesnake, but to be honest thunder were the main band even though they were on first... they totally out rocked whitesnake and def lepard.. and in my opinion stole the show.. ..def lepard were really naff.. walked out after about 4 tracks... and so did a lot of others.....

i am all excited..... only a few more hours before we go and see whitesnake in concert... with thunder and def lepard playing too... corrrrrrr that david coverdale is still sexy with those to die for cheek bones.... ok he has gone a bit wrinkly..... but hay havent we all....

We seen whitesnake not so long back.. we had freebie tickets to go and see them, our friend Ashley Williams used to be their roadie, and drum tech to the late great awsome drummer cosy powell... who i personally think was sex on legs.....aaahhhh who died 9 years ago in april i think....

i know this is totally off the plot of my blog..... but i dont care.... lol.... i am still a biker and a rock chick at heart...too..

oooo my new wellie boots.....the family knew i wanted a pair of 'girlie' wellie boots to use in the garden, and yesturday they came home with a sweetie pair..lol..so now i dont have to wait until its dry to go in the garden..Plus they said it was an early birthday pressie from the kids...bless

Over the years i have bought loads of gardening....self suficiency books... and in general the 'good life' style books... and i found this one last night called LIVING ON A LITTLE LAND by Patrick Rivers it was written in the early 70's which i quote 9 written on the back of the book)
This is a book for those who, by choice or circumstances, are having to tighten their belts.The never ending spiral of inflation remains a constant factor in our lives...

Its about a couple who bought a run down ..overgrown...neglected property with land... a good read...

in one of the chapters... there is advice which to be honest is a very good and valued point for me...

now i am really piddled off...i was watching the news last night and car tax is going to go up by loads in thev next 2 years... waht the heck is the government on....????? we have a p reg mondeo so i think our road tax is going to be £400 plus ... we are allready moaning and complaining about the rise in food prices and fuel... and they slam this on us... gorden brown is saying he is going to help.. but no he's not.. if the government really wantevd to help they would lower the amount of tax they ahve put on fuel...

i wish there was a revolt against the government.. we voted for them ( well not me personally) to run the country.. they should listen to us....

how the heck am i suposed to save for my dream.. when all these price rises are happening...all my extra money i an trying to get will be used in living ..expenses and feeding my family....

sorry i am not normally a political person, but i just had to have a moan and a groan.... i do not trust that gorden brown with my kids sweetie money let alone the countries financial decisions.... when ever has there been a politician that actually done something right for the country financially...????????

After a few quiet days without earning/getting extra money for my fund... i sold £21 worth of bits from the unit.... hurraaayyyy!!!! which now brings my grand total to wait for it...lol... the huge sum of £396... I know i have other money to add over the next few days from my ebay sales and slice the pie.. so as soon as that money is my bank account it will be added...

still havent done much in the garden....... flipping british weather.. dont you just love it.... all this rain..... but i have managed to re-pot my courgette plants, which i have put outside..... my lettuce seedlings now need transplanting, and so does my marigolds....plus i think it is now time to start the cabbage seeds off too....

i really do need to get get more pics on my blog dont i ...... will try my best.. honest......

its saturday and i am totally lost.... realy i am.. i dont know what to do or where to go...

where is the shabby chic cafe gone ? i need to catch up on all the gossip...oo well i am sure i will find it somewhere..

hubby has decided he wants to go out tonight, i have given excuses for the last 2 weeks, but today i can not get away with it, so we are going out tonight...as i have said in an earlier post he doesnt know that i am trying to save.... and i want family life to be the same, them not knowing or seeing that i am penny pinching etc.... plus i have had such a poo day in work with flipping annoying work neighbours, which hopefully will be all sorted out on wednesday morning with an official meeting in the site offices..

Today i have started back on slice the pie, as the new scout room is open, its a great palce to earn some money by writing reviews on up and coming bands and artists..

i own up..i have been stripping for money

yep.... i have lowered myself to stripping.... well with the prices that they offer these days..... i just couldnt refuse it...

it will take a bit of time...... but in the end i am hoping that they will be a large amount of money going into my DayDream Fund....I do it in the evenings , once i have sorted the family out etc.... so its not interfering with anything else i do..... except trying to finish a shabby chic project that i have got on the go...

Ok its NOT that type of stripping..... you lot.... what are you thinking...lol.......

As you know i weighed in my alu cans this weeks, and found out that the pirce of scrap metal is very high at the mo..... so we are sorting out hubby's stash of bike/car bits, plus what he has still got up his mother's garage.... we actually found a remains of one of his land rovers.... which we honestly thought had gone...lol...

there was also an old copper tank there from when hubby's mother had her cental heating changed a few years back.... so as one does.... i phoned the scrap metal merchant to find out the price of various scrap......FLIPPING NORAS !!!!!!!!!!! they are buing copper for 3 thousand pound a ton.... alu cans are 5 hundred pounds a tone .and steel cans , which they never used to buy before ,they are now offering £150 per ton....

soooooo i have been stripping all the old electrical things that have broken that hubby has stashed 'thinking' that the inner bits might come in handy for something...lol.... yep they certainly came in handy.. for me to strip to copper from the cables etc....

so in a nutshell i have been stripping wire cables etc for the copper.....and also keeping the brass pins in hte plugs etc.....

We also go through about 10/12 tins of pet food everyday, which we wash and put out for the recycling every week, because they are steel....... not any more..... they are going to be kept and weighed in..... even if its just a few £££££'s every now and again....

ok.... you can get the straight jacket now.... i have def lost the plot.....how sad am i..... stripping in front of the tely every night......hahahahaha

I'm sitting here drinking my cuppa before i go to work, and i was thinking i am really pleased with the amount of money that i have manged to get in the time...over the last few days i have managed to get.

£12 worth of sales on thursday in work
£18 worth of sales on friday in work
£30 part savings by using money off coupons
£20 hubby helped friend move his daughter used our van, did get £40 but treated kids to bk
£50 ebay sales
£53 cashback from quidco.. due to be paid out anytime

so i have managed to get a grand total of £183...to add to the daydrean fund..

so now my grand total now stands at ....£368.......

THERE THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN HAPPENING...... my one and only chook has gone broody..ooo bless so my pas.... Miss_phish and Rose_Sparky are going to send me some fertile eggs... ...cant wait..... know in my luck my chook will decide he hormones have gone back to normal...lol..

another rainy day

woke up this morning and its raining again... and they have forcasted MORE rain.. will def have to buy a pair of shabby chic wellies now....dont think my trainers will cope with much more in the garden...

last night i had a fruitfull night using money off coupons off my shopping, saved a massive £5. and only paid 53p.. i love happy scanners.....lol... so i have put £30 into my daydream fund so now its up to £185.

was messing round with the old calculator last night number crunching and if i want to reach my day dream target of 200k in 3 years................. wait for it..............i have got get just over £183 per day......i really think if i dont want to make a fool of myself and make this blog a laughing stock of blogland i better really start thinking about getting some big bucks in... ....

so if anyone reading this has got a fat cat job that pays mega money for someone to sit on their butt all day i am your person....

When i number crunched last night it did deflate me to be honest.... and put my on a bit of a downer.... but i cant let the girls ( and dave ) down on the shabby chic forum..... so going now to earn some pennies on slice the pie... which is a great way of earning some pennies.. if you havent heard of it... you review up and coming bands.... and you get paid for your opinion.. there is a sliding scale of the amount you get paid, it starts at 3p and goes to 15p per track.... i am a bit confused how they work it out,, but at mo all i want is money.. i am on 2 starts which is worth 5p per review.... this time round.. i am up to around the £6.50 mark.. so it does creep up....

going now as i got to earn/make /save/ LOADS OF MONEY.....

i've lost the plot

ok... i honestly thought it was wednesday yesturday when i wrote my blog... just sign me in to the looney bin right now and put yourselves out of the misery of reading my woffling notes....

today i think i am going to learn the basics of what day it is... as i am sure somewhere along the line this will come in very handy...

today i am hoping to knuckle down and list some things on turbo lister ready to upload tomorrow on ebay....i also need to write some business letters... to promote my business...and post htem out to potential suppliers...

yesturday ( tuesday) when i was sorting out the rags that come in ( my business is recycling textiles) i started putting items aside to do a car bott with.. i get loads of items in still with the tags on... so was thinking of taking them to a boot sales and sell things at 50p each.. let people have some bargins.. and me have some extra money for my day dream fund...even if i get £20 - £30 it will all help.... i have quite a few bike leathers in various condtions.. and helmets too so i think maybe a fiver each for them... as they are in the way now....i also got loads of levi jeans.... so maybe a £1 each for them.. get the old impluse buys flowing....

going to finish my cuppa now, do my sarnies for work.. and toddle off....

found 50p today in work...hurrraaaaaay!!!!!!!! so that has gone into my saving tin, so once i open that up.. all wahts in there will be added to my total.... the halifax forms have come through.. so will fill them in, and start the ball rolling.. with the 10% savers account...

i am hoping to get some things ready to list on turbo lister tomorrow and thursday.. so hopefully some of them will sell.. i was suprised on sunday with balls of vintage wool selling, and i have quite a lot of it there so strike while the irons hot so to speak..... anyway boring entry today i know,, but will try and do a better one tomorrow... better go.. got to put the steaks on ready for tea..... dont worry didnt pay full wack, they were reduced down to 50p.....bargin....

one week since the start

wow doesnt time fly.. its one week since i started the blog....maybe i should have a party...lol..

well another monday morning. sitting here having my morning cuppa... thinking what money saving or earning thing i can do....??????

sold some things on ebay last night.... which theoretically should go into the business account, but i think i will put some of the money into my pot.... and put it down as wages.... i think from now on this is waht i will do, unless the business need more cashflow...

still waiting for the halifax paperwork to cme through so i can open a savers account at 10% interest.... but i was also thinking of opening a barclay or lloyds instant saver account.. i know its a low interest... but i can put my money into there.. instead of my current account.... where there is no interest... plus there will be no card to take the money out..l.ol..

so today is going to be trying to sort out a bit of structure to the money i am saving.... i also worked out ( if my maths are right ..which you will have to check) that when i hit £200... hopefully not long.. i would have save 0.01% of the 200k that would have bought a house currently on the market that i love...

so only another 99.99% to go.....lol...

sunday supermarket shopping day

well its sunday morning, and i am here cutting out money off coupons that i have printed from the internet, there is also a £5 off a £30 spend in tesco couon in the news of the woeld newspaper, so i have just sent hubby up to the local newspaper shop to buy me 3 ...so i will use 2 today in 2 seperate shops which will just so happen to be just over the £30 mark, and i will also use some other money off coupons to try and maximise my savings....

Sunday is also another good day to go shopping in the supermarkets as they reduce stuff down at about 1 - 2 pm it is hit and miss.. but its worth going as you never know what you can get for literly pennies and stock up the freezer....

i am slowing getting back into my tightwad thrifty ways... without the family suffering.... no i will re-phrase that.. without them noticing.....i think its going to be an uphill struggle with the food shopping, as food prices are set to rise even higher.... they are predicting that fuel.. gas.. electricity... coal....and food is going to rise by approx 40% ...so at the moment i am going to make the most of the money off coupons.... as if they stopped excepting them i will be totally in cac street... as there is no way my weekly bufget would cope.... let alone trying to save some pennies from it....

so today's shopping i am going to try and start buying the staples to stock up.. and dog and cat food.... while the money off coupons are flowing..

my day dream fund is going to be a big struggle.... and is only going to be drip fed by small amounts... but i am determind with the help ( WELL THE BOOT UP THE BACKSIDE) from my shabby chic pals.. to stay forcused...

as not only do i want to hear biker boots around my daydream smallholding.. i want more chicken feet around there too.. to keep my one chicken, who lays me a beautifull egg everyday.. company...

i am trying to get my head sorted to today.... and i am trying to get some sort of routine going.. so i can get as much done as poss, rather than sit on my butt when i come home from work.....

my work..... i owm my own textile recycling business which is very hard work.. i have been doing this for a year now, and i am still not taking a wage out, as i am trying to grow the business.. i have recently moved to a bigger unit.. so with the extra expense of the unit, advertising etc.. the business needs to fund an extra £200 per month.... before i even think about taking a wage.....today. saturday.. i had my parents helping me for a few hours to try and help me catch up with the sorting... and to be honest it looks as though we have done nothing.... so tomorrow again for a few hours.. they are coming over to help me....if/when i get on top of things.. i can list a few bits on ebay to help with my day dream fund....today i had quite a few things in still got the labels on.... i had one blouse which cost £100. and the person just threw it away.... i just cant work these people out..... more money than sense.. or should i say they still got room to spend on their credit cards....

This is just a small pile of rags to sort through

I wish i could just instantly get money so i can go out and buy my dream home... but i am starting to take baby steps... to try and get the money, and in the mean time i am learning how to grow things in my garden....

i have now come to the idea of selling one of my trikes....i sold a pair of my bike boots that i loved... here they are..

will take some pics when the weather is better to show you her...

going now to try and dig out my thrifty... saving.... penny pinching books..

First Things First

i think first things first i need to sort out my garden......i used to love doing the garden, and at one time i did have an allotment, but time and the lack of help from hubby ment it was not worth me keeping, plus there was a waiting list, and it wasnt fair on those other people who could have got good use out of it, unlike me.....being realistic it was a fair trek away, approx 10 miles, so now with the price of fuel ever increasing, it would not have been finacially viable now.
There is a fair bit of tidying up in the garde, and i know i have missed the main planting season, but i can still grow somethings... so over the next few weeks i will show you the progress of my garden..

In the big picture of things.... i think trying to grow some veg, even if its only enough for a few meals will help me save money...and i think this is going to be the backbone of my 3 year daydream fund... trying to grow and make as much as i can... and also make money fo coarse..

Yesturday i banked £110. hurrraaaaaayyy so now i an on my way.....i also opned a Halifax saver account which is offering 10% interest, so i am going to set up a monthly payment of £25 and what ever i make during the months ahead i will make extra payment.....

ok not a lot of money, but its a start.... i know waht you are saying....these small amounts are not even cover the cost of the legal fees of buying a house let alone a smallholding..... and i totally agree with you, BUT its a start.....

Today is Thursaday and on thursdays gala bing do free bingo games at certain times of the day..... so i will have a game or 2.... hasnt cost me anything, andi have a very remote chance of winning.... well even if its £5...its something..... i am also going to start entering free compitions online again..... i won a pair of tickets to go and see some motorshow in january, but we could not go, so i sold them on ebay.. if i remember rightly i had about £30 odd quid for them.....

hope the photos have turned out ok on the blogg...lol....

sorry if my posts sound a bit boring, but i am still feeling my feet, well bikerboots.....and my head is exploding with ideas and thoughts on what to do to try and achieve my goal.... but if i write them all down at once... this part of the blof will be about 2 miles long and a total ramble.. and i would have frizzled myself out...

The Plan of Action

today i was thinking about my plan of action.... in how i am going to get money to buy my dream home....

my first thought was to rob a bank.......which in reality is not an option....

beg......steal......borrow....... again not really good options....

so..... i think, first of all i need to make sure that our household finances are in order.... and that i stay within our weekly spend budget.... which i done a few months ago..... we have £120. per week to pay for food.......electric ( we are on tokens) petrol for the car and bike, coal in the winter.... and any other expense..... this was tight before prices of petrol and food started going up..... now its a night mare to be honest..... so i use a lot of money off coupons that i print off the interenet and from daily papers when they are in there....

I am now going to have to make full use of our garden and greenhouse.... to grow some food....We havent got a big garden, but if i can save some pennies.... even if i grow potatoes.... for a few meals.. it will be worth it, as the price of spuds in the supermarket is silly...

so tomorrow i will post some pics of my before garden.... and will keep you updated in pics on how it is doing..... i know its a bit late, but we can still get things growing....

going to dig out ( hahahaha excuse the pun) some of my books to give me some ideas on saving money around the house etc....

right i better go now as i dont want to bore you to tears.... plus i am still getting my head around this bolf thing...lol..

a new week and a new start

well its a new week, and its a new start for me, a start on trying to make a dream that i have had for many years come true.

ever since i was a young girl i have dreamed of owning my own farm/smallholding, and for the last 15 odd years i have gone through phases of looking at properties in the paper and in estate agents, and now the internet. and seeing the prices of smallholdings just increase in price before my very eyes...on times it has made me ill...knowing there is no way i could afford my dream home....i allways thought by the time i was 40 i would be living in my perfect house... but now at nearly 42 i am still no closer, infact i am now further away than i ever was, with the prices and our debt.

so with the encouragement from all my pals on the shabby chic forum, i am going to try and see if i can try raise/save some money and achieve my dream.

i will aim for 3 years, so then i will be 45, so over the next 3 years or so you will have to put up with me moaning and groaning about how unrealistic all this is, unless i win the lottery...lol..

on the right hand side of my blog page i am going to keep a total of how much is in my day dream fund......but being realistic, i dont want my family to live like porpers just incase or more likely that i dont raise enough money.... so all my scrimping and saving has got to be done without them noticing, well what i mean is without me telling them what i am doing... i will just tell them we have got bills to pay etc..

oooo flip i feel as though i am on a blog to nowhere here...as the cheapest house that i have seen in the last week or so is 200k ... i know house prices are falling at the moment, but i dont think that this particular house will fall down to about a fifty quid...lol.... as thats what i have got at the moment.....

right i better get my butt into gear and start thinking about a plan of action for all this.....

Welll i now have a lovely new blogg thanks to my shabby chic friends....... but the things is i havent got a flipping clue what to write or do....which to be honest is really typical of me...... full fuss about something.. that think ooooooo shit what do i do now.

i am only writing this now to shut them all up so they can see i have actually started to write something...lol..

the thing is they dont know i am going away tomorrow for the weekend to a local bike rally down the gower... which is a very beautiful part of swansea...

so imagine the scene.... a field... in the middle of nowhere.. with loads of bikers.. tents....a marque.... with live music... and most of ........B O O Z E.......and hopefully some beautifull weather.....so tonight i am trying to get things organised ready for tomorrow....

oooooo ye... sorry to be rude.... and not introduce myself properly to you lot reading this, but that will have to wait for when i come back after the weekend..... and when i have got rid of the effects of the weekend with a load of pain killers for the mega hangover i normally get..which to me is a sign that i had a good rally.... with all my biker friends...... i will try and take some pics of the weekend...
