That's hard, isn't it. I think your categories are fine. Perhaps add Vintage textiles and also add Vintage fabrics? And Barkcloth.
As to words, just keep it simple. Say what it is your selling. A sort of 'Welcome to my online shop, where you'll find all sorts of fabulous vintage textiles, clothing, and accessories for your home.'
THANK YOU... i am going to use that word for word....
i am flipping hopeless and wording things..lol..
Hope it all goes well for you Heather, I'm afraid my brain just isn't functioning atm, but I would suggest that you don't have too many similar catagories
(ie; nighties and clothes)
Also make it clear if you have Vintage linens (items already made) and vintage fabric (fabric yet to be used)
Barkcloth would come under fabric wouldn't it?
Or do you call oilcloth, barkcloth?
I got Pip to do some of our wording.

Bathroom, towels, hand, bath, sheet, cosmetics.
Laundry
Kitchen
Etc
FASHION.
Dress
Children
Nightwear
Etc Etc........ you get my drift.

You'll need a 'welcome/home page' where you should have general photos, perhaps a selection type photo with all the things you sell. This is where lacey's great suggestion could go.
The next page should be an 'about us' page where you explain to people what inspired you, what you look for etc. For example, 'I first starting doing this....' etc and so forth.
Then your subsequent pages should be your item categories, not too many though and keep them general.
I would then have a 'contact us' page with all your contact details and how to order and also any delivery information, such as whether you deliver internationally or to the UK.
Finally, I would have a 'Links' page - you could link to friends, your fav shops etc.
Remember that the text you use on your website will be used to get your google ranking high. For exmaple, you want people to find your site at the top of the google list when they search for words like 'shabby chic', 'vintage', 'fabric', 'antique' etc so you need to make sure that you include these words.
If you are still unsure what to do, my advice would be to pick a really good clean (uncluttered) website of a similar type and use that as a template for your site.
I hope that's useful to you!
Best of luck!
